23Feb2005. Adding topsoil to the Vegetable patch. It was a failure, not enough time to maintain it. But it seemed a good idea at the time...


26aug2006. Erected a sign at entrance to field #1. Decided to call it
"Bear Mead Reserve". Added web address and phone numbers.

Oddments

Feb 2005. The end of our access track in the wet season. Today a bridleway, old maps show it always has stopped 200 yards short of the Stour, Dorset's largest river. In winter large puddles form which I'm unable to fill. In summer the track is dry and rock hard. The gate on the right was "discovered" inside the hedgerow, completely overgrown, it needs constant pruning. Entrance gate to the plantation is just behind the camera.
