A few of the problems I had with my bicycle while cycling round Ireland in 1990. The bike was old, and not up to the rough roads and distances involved. From experience gained, bought a new hand-made bike for my Cross-America cycling in 1992.

NUTRAK 700x32C rear tyre was shedding its tread,
changed to Michelin 700x32C 'World Tour'

Rear tyre split along wheel rim, side of back wheel may be too shallow.

Rear pannier rubbers both perished, temporarily replaced with rubber bands.

Derailleur indexing got out of synchronization, switched to friction setting.

Rear brake block in danger of rubbing on tyre, needed resetting.

Two mysterious punctures in Derry. Tyre was worn so bought new one.
Bought 700x32C, 1 tube, 1 pair blocks. Sudden flat, then new tube went flat too.
Faulty to start with?

Back tyre rim protruded, deflated and pushed back, now seems OK.

Unlocated puncture in front tube, but found split in tube.

Hernia in back tyre which blew. Fitted NUTRAK 700x32C
